A safer way for teens to earn money helping neighbors nearby.

LocalKid connects local teens with homeowners and tenants who need help with simple tasks, while building in the safety, screening, and parent/guardian oversight families expect.

From yard work and pet care to tutoring, errands, and light household help, LocalKid gives teens a structured way to gain work experience while helping neighbors get everyday tasks done.

Now launching through a structured pilot in select communities.

The neighborhood work gap is real.

Homeowners need reliable help with everyday tasks that are too small for a contractor, too inconvenient to ignore, and too time-consuming to manage alone.

At the same time, teens need flexible ways to earn money, build confidence, and gain real work experience close to home.

LocalKid sits in the middle, creating a structured bridge between neighbors who need help and teens who are ready to work.

Step 3: Complete the Task

Once approved, teens can complete eligible local tasks, track activity through the platform, and receive payment through the LocalKid workflow.

Built for trust from the beginning.

LocalKid is not a casual message board. The platform is being built with layered onboarding, safety checks, parent/guardian involvement, and structured task workflows from day one.

Tasks are not posted until the homeowner or tenant completes the required registration process and passes a background check.

Parents and guardians are included in the onboarding process for unemancipated teens under the age of 18.

Tasks and teens can be reviewed for fit, safety, age appropriateness, and readiness before moving forward.

LocalKidTM is designed to support transparent task payments through a marketplace-style process using Stripe to complete transactions.

The pilot is intentionally focused and local so the model can be tested responsibly before expansion.
